Depicted is the legendary Greek hero Heracles, known to the Romans as Hercules, reclining on the iconic Nemean lion's skin, which he claimed as a symbol of his first great victory. Engraved on the side is the name Burch, the renowned gem engraver Edward Burch (1730-1814), whose works are celebrated by The British Museum as masterpieces of 18th-century intaglio carving.
The intaglio is likely a Victorian-era replica of an original design by Edward Burch.

The glass intaglio measures approximately 2.4 cm x 2 cm, with the ring weighing an impressive 16.0 grams. Sized at US 6 or UK M.

This piece has no hallmark but acid tests as solid 10k gold.
