Antique 14K Gold Bone Arm Charm, Victorian Hand Pendant, Stigmata Pierced Nail, Figa Charm
Antique 14K Gold Bone Arm Charm, Victorian Hand Pendant, Stigmata Pierced Nail, Figa Charm
One more fabulous and mysterious late Victorian Christ arm pendant made of bone and mounted on a 14k gold embellished base.
Through the hand, there is a 14k gold nail pierced, symbolising the Stigmata.
This unusual 19th century figurative arm pendant is the fourth of its kind that I’m selling here and it comes from my private collection of ex votos and religious items, which I am selling gradually here and on my website. It was acquired in Italy from an antique collector a few years back together with other Christ body parts mounted on different gold bases embellished with different details. The collection was originally sold to me as a Victorian body part group of ex-voto charms and pendants.
The 14k gold base and nail have no hallmarks - acid tested positive as 14k gold.
In good antique/used condition with some small signs of age on its surface, to which considering its age, in my opinion, only add to its remarkable antique mystery. THREE OF THE FINGERS ARE PARTIALLY WORN OUT. (Antique items are almost always pre-worn and will typically have some level of wear). Please refer to images for condition and further details.
The arm is beautifully carved depicting veins and light muscles.
It measures approximately 6 cm (including the bail) by 0.9 cm. It weighs approximately 2.47 grams.
The chain on image 8 is just used as a reference.
