 A Stunning 14k Gold Victorian Heart Reliquary.

This exceptional Portuguese 14 ct gold reliquary/locket is truly one of a kind. Featuring a double-sided engraved gold heart encased in a splendid frame dating back to the 1800s.

Originally used to house sacred relics, this piece is over 150 years old. I have refrained from attempting to open it to prevent any potential damage.

It is offered as originally acquired from an estate/private sale in Portugal, alongside two other marvellous pieces (one of which has recently been sold here). This particular reliquary is the largest of the three.

In good antique/used condition, it displays small signs of wear and age which, in my opinion, only enhance its historical charm and antique allure. (Antique items are almost always pre-worn and will typically exhibit some degree of wear - please refer to the images).

It measures approximately 5.2 cm (including bail) by 3 cm and weighs approximately 8.9 grams of gold.

The heart is sold on its own; the chain shown in the image 9 is for reference only.
