Victorian orange natural coral hand charm.
The Mano Fico is mounted on an embelished 14K gold base with a 14k gold bracelet around its wrist (no hallmark - acid-tested positive as 14k gold).
The hand pendant is beautifully carved on natural Mediterranean Coral.
Dated from the late 1800s, this lovely figa charm is in good antique/used condition with small signs of age. The coral surface has an uneven natural quality to it. Please note, this is a preowned charm that it has been cherished and used as a lucky charm, therefore like most worn early antique items, it will typically have a notable level of wear, to which in my opinion only add to its true splendour. Please refer to the images
The small figa measures approximately 3 cm long (including bail) by 0.7 cm wide.
It weighs approximately 1.8 grams
The Figa is sold on its own. The chain on image 7 is just used as a reference.
Acquired as part of large lot of Georgian/Victorian coral charms.
The Mano Figa was initially the symbol incanting fertility and later becoming a mighty lucky charm against bad luck.
