Antique 1700s Silver Diamond Cross Pendant, Baroque, Antique Georgian Old Rose Cut Diamond Cruciform, 18th Century French Old Mine Diamonds

Antique 18th century diamond cross pendant with articulated drop, adorned with rose-cut diamonds in silver collet setting and scrolls set with further small rose-cut diamonds surrounding the frame.

A Georgian French  Croix de St Lô pendant with four old cut rose diamonds and one pear drop old cut rose diamond which is on an articulated section. It has also eight other smaller old cut rose diamonds on the edge of its frame.
The backs are silver enclosed and there is a built in bale with later jump ring.

This exquisite jewellery piece is in good antique/used condition, with small signs of aging, including “cracks on two of the diamonds” - which, given its age of over 200 years, in my opinion, only enhances its timeless appeal. Antique items are often pre-worn and may show some wear - please see the images for details.

Georgian jewellery, valued for its historical significance and craftsmanship, is highly sought after and collectible. This cruciform piece is adorned with old mine rose diamonds in closed settings, with the large drop-shaped element at the bottom of the cross articulated for added elegance.

The cross measures approximately 5 cm (including bail) x 3.7 cm and it weighs approximately 13.4 grams.
