Victorian Diamond-Set Cat Stick-Pin: A Rare Treasure.

A uniquely, very rare, Victorian stick-pin adorned with a cat’s head set with rose-cut diamonds, realistic glass eyes, and a delicate tiny natural coral tongue. Expertly crafted in 18k white to yellow gold (no hallmark - acid tested as 18k gold), this exquisite piece dates back to mid 19th century. 

The entire pin measures approximately 5.5 x 0.9 cm, with a gross weight of 2.1 grams.

This enchanting stick pin cat’s head is covered with rose-cut diamonds that catch the light beautifully. Crafted in the mid nineteenth century, this distinguished piece may have been worn to evoke the symbolic meanings of a cat: mystery, independence, intuition, and protection. It makes a captivating accessory for any lapel.

This exceptional Victorian cat pin is in good antique/used condition, exhibiting some imperfections consistent with its age. These signs of use, accrued over more than 150 years, only add to its timeless charm. It hasn't been cleaned to preserve its authenticity -   (Please refer to images for details).

My passion for antique animal jewellery is boundless, and while I have encountered precious fox face antique pins, this is the first cat face pin I have come across. This piece undoubtedly belonged to a devoted jewellery enthusiast, its timeless beauty cherished through the ages.
