Antique 18k Victorian Cross, Raised Halo Jesus

Outstanding continental 18K gold antique Victorian crucifix pendant.

Superb 1800’s solid 18 ct gold cross measuring approximately 4.8 cm long (including bail) by 1.2 cm wide. It weighs approximately 4.5 grams of solid gold.

This European crucifix has a marvellous design with a beautiful halo shinning behind a raised Jesus. The cross is embellished on the front and on the back with beautiful details, including the symbols of *Arma Christi ("weapons of Christ”), often found on these continental crosses and associated with the Passion of Jesus Christ in Christian symbolism.

In good antique/used condition with some signs of ageing which in my opinion, considering its age, only add to its mysterious timeless beauty. Antique items are almost always pre-worn and will typically have some level of wear.

No hallmark - acid tested positive as 18k gold.
