Antique 9k Coral Horned Hand, 9ct Gold Natural Mediterranean Coral, Lucky Charm, Victorian, Figa Charm, Sign of Horn, Mano Cornuto, Evil Eye
Antique 9k Coral Horned Hand, 9ct Gold Natural Mediterranean Coral, Lucky Charm, Victorian, Figa Charm, Sign of Horn, Mano Cornuto, Evil Eye
Introducing an enchanting Victorian hand-carved natural coral pendant depicting a Horned Hand.
Crafted from antique Mediterranean red/orange coral, this pendant features the Mano Cornuto symbol, also known as the "sign of the horns."
It is mounted on a 9k gold embellished case. Although lacking a hallmark, it has been acid tested positive as 9k gold.
This sweet antique hand pendant is exactly as it was originally acquired from a private collector in Europe, together with a group of other coral items. Despite its age, the hand is in good antique/used condition, showing typical signs of aging. The finger with the ring exhibits indications of being glued to the hand, which, in my view, enhances its timeless allure. The coral displays a natural uneven aged/used quality, as expected with antique items. Please refer to the images for further details on its condition.
Measuring approximately 2.5cm (including bail) by 0.6 cm and weighing approximately 1 gram.
The chain on image 9 is just used as a reference.
A lovely and rare mighty lucky charm against bad luck.
“Horned Hand amulet, Corsica Mano cornuta, or ‘horned hand’ amulets are thought to be of ancient Italian origin and are worn as protection against the harmful glance of the Evil Eye. Mano cornuta is one of two hand gestures that are commonly used for this purpose, the second being the mano fica, or ‘figa hand’.”
