Antique 9K Gold Bone Figa Pendant, Mano Fico Hand Amulet, Lucky Charm, Green Cabochon, Evil Eye Talisman, Italian Fist Pendant

A beautiful and unusual antique figa (closed fist) pendant, carved from natural bone and finished with solid 9k gold details (no hallmarks, acid tested positive as 9k gold).

The hand features individually applied gold nails and a substantial gold cap, while the wrist is adorned with a bezel-set blue cabochon (probably a turquoise) that adds a wonderful splash of colour. The blue gemstone adds another layer of symbolism, long associated with protection, wisdom and serenity, making it a fitting companion to the figa’s traditional role as a guardian against the evil eye.

The figa, or mano fico, has been worn for centuries throughout Italy and Portugal as a protective amulet believed to ward off the evil eye and bring luck and strength to its wearer.

This pendant was acquired from an Italian antique dealer alongside several other exceptional antique figas.

The piece remains in good antique condition. The gold cap has developed a softly worn surface and signs of age that speak to decades of use, giving the pendant a rich character and authenticity. Please refer to the photographs for condition and details.
