Introducing a sweet Victorian hand-carved bone pendant showcasing a Horned Hand.

Set in a 9k gold casing, the Mano Cornuto symbol, also known as the "sign of the horns, has been verified as 9k gold through acid testing, even though it lacks a hallmark.

The cuff of the hand is adorned with two small turquoise stones.

This charming antique hand pendant remains in the same condition as when it was acquired from an Italian dealer, along with other bone and Mother of Pearl antique charms.

Original antique Horn Hand pendants made from bone or coral are becoming increasingly hard to come by. Despite having some imperfections, this one remains a rare and valuable find. The hand charm is in decent antique/used condition, with typical signs of aging. The Thumb and Middle Fingers are carved in a folded position, while the RING FINGER, also folded, is WORN DOWN and MISSING ITS HALF", which, in my opinion, adds to its timeless charm.  The Index Finger is intact and "THE LITTLE FINGER is a bit WORN OUT at the tip", but together, both are preserving the striking cornuto sign. The bone surface has a naturally aged and uneven appearance, as is expected with antique items. Please refer to the images for more details on its condition.

Measuring approximately 3.1 cm (including bail) by 0.9 cm and weighing around 1 gram.

The chain shown in the image 9 is for reference only.

A delightful and rare lucky charm to ward off bad luck. “Horned Hand amulet, Corsica Mano cornuta, or ‘horned hand’ amulets are believed to originate from ancient Italy and are worn to protect against the harmful glance of the Evil Eye. Mano cornuta is one of two hand gestures commonly used for this purpose, the other being the mano fica, or ‘figa hand.’”
