Antique genuine natural coral figa hand.
This adorable Victorian figa charm is carved on a natural mediterranean orange pinkish coral. It’s mounted on an 9k gold base with an 9k gold bail (later addition). No hallmark - acid tested positive as 9k gold.
The figa charm is in good antique/used condition with small signs of ageing on its surface - the thumb is partially worn - the coral has an uneven aged/used natural quality to it and the gold case is a little distressed, to which in my opinion only adds to its extraordinary appeal. Antique items are almost always pre-worn and will typically have some level of wear. Please refer to images.
It measures approximately 3.2 cm (Including bail) by 0.8 cm and it weighs approximately 2.5 grams.
The chain on image 7 is just used as a reference.
The figa hand is used for magical protection against the evil eye and other forms of bad luck. The figa is known across the world.
