Antique 9k Rose Gold Red - Orange Bakelite Leg Pendant: 1940s 9 ct Gold Ex Voto Charm

An intriguing and unusual antique leg pendant, crafted from red-orange Bakelite and dating to the 1940s. This small ex voto charm features a detailed 9k rose gold case, a delicate anklet and gold nails beautifully embodying the fusion of religious devotion and decorative craftsmanship. (No hallmarks - acid tested positive as 9k gold).

Ex votos were traditionally offered to fulfil a vow or give thanks, and anatomical forms such as this leg were believed to bring healing or protection. It also echoes the figa tradition, charms worn to ward off evil and invite good fortune.

In good vintage condition, with surface wear consistent with age and use, details that only add to its character and charm. Please refer to the images for condition.

It mesures approximately 3 cm x 1.5 cm x 0.8 cm and it weights approximately 1.2 grams.
