A striking antique Victorian figa pendant, carved in deep black jet and mounted with a 9ct gold cap (acid tested, no hallmark). A beautifully tactile piece with presence and character.

The hand is confidently carved, with softly rounded knuckles, defined fingers and a subtle incised band with geometric detailing around the wrist. 

Traditionally worn as a protective talisman against ill fortune, the mano fico carries a quiet strength. In jet, it also evokes Victorian mourning jewellery – protection, remembrance and resilience combined in one small but powerful form.
