A remarkably delicate antique lace pin, believed to date from the late Georgian or Regency period, featuring a beautifully hand-carved natural coral plaque set within an intricate 14k gold filigree mount.

The rectangular coral centre has been carved with an attractive textured pattern that catches the eye, displaying warm shades of rich orange-red coral. It is framed by fine hand-made gold wirework, creating an airy, lace-like design typical of elegant jewellery from the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Small lace and fichu pins such as this were fashionable accessories during the Georgian and Regency eras, worn to secure delicate lace collars, fichus and scarves. Today, they make exceptional collector's pieces while remaining wonderfully wearable as a brooch.

The reverse features a simple tube hinge, long pin and open C-clasp, fittings that are consistent with early 19th-century construction. Combined with the craftsmanship and design, these details suggest a Georgian or Regency origin, although an exact date cannot be guaranteed.

I have intentionally left the brooch in its original, untouched condition, preserving the beautiful aged patina acquired over more than two centuries. It has not been polished or cleaned.

The brooch remains in good antique condition, with gentle wear, minor imperfections and natural signs of age consistent with its history. Antique jewellery is almost always pre-loved and will show evidence of its long life—please study the photographs carefully.
