Vintage 14k Gold Beetle Horn Pendant, Natural Scarab Mandible (1113)

Another striking antique natural Stag beetle horn mounted on an 14k gold base.

It measures approximately 3 cm by 0.7 com and it weighs approximately 0.32 Grams

This antique sensational and highly unusual scarab beetle mandible is mounted on an 14k gold base (no hallmark - acid tested positive as 18k gold). It has a later addition secure 9k gold double jumping (no hallmark - acid tested positive as 9k gold).

In good antique/used condition, this charm has some small signs of age - to which in my opinion only add to its true beauty. (Vintage items are almost always pre-worn and will typically have some level of wear). Please refer to images for condition and further details.

In ancient Egyptian culture the scarab was a symbol of immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection, in South America beetle horn's charms were used, in the 18th and 19th century as amulets agains bad luck. And still in South America charms bracelets with such pendants become fashionable once again in the 1950s and 1960s.
