Vintage 14k Gold Enamel Religious Saint Sebastian Medal

An adorable religious Portuguese medal/pendant portraying Saint Sebastian (São Sebastião).

Dated from 1950s, this medal has a fine enamel two sided representation with the front depicting Saint Sebastian tied to a tree, shot by arrows with a beautiful landscape in the background. The back has Saint Sebastian written in Portuguese.

The medal is mounted on a 14k gold gold frame - no hallmark - acid tested positive as 14k gold.

In good vintage/used condition, with small signs of ageing, such as the enamel has a small crack on the back to which on my view it only adds to its true aged mystery (see image 4) .

It measures approximately 3 cm (including bail) by 1.7 cm. It weighs approximately 2.69 grams.

The chain on image 6 is just used as a reference.

This beautiful religious item has the age and the features of a pristine piece of jewellery. It was acquired, together with a group of other medals, in Portugal from an antique collector.
