Vintage 18k Gold Hand Amulet Lucky Charm, 1960s Figa Mano Fico Pendant 18 ct Gold, Hand Amulet Lucky Charm, Bakelite Fist

A wonderfully characterful vintage figa pendant dating to around the 1960s, carved in a warm yellowish, caramel tone and mounted mounted in an ornate 18k gold setting with a soft, warm tone that sits beautifully between yellow and rose gold. The sculpted hand forms the classic fist gesture, known as the figa or mano fico, a powerful old-world talisman traditionally worn for protection, luck and warding off the evil eye.

The material presents as either bakelite or early celluloid, both widely used in mid-century jewellery. Due to their visual and tactile similarities and the age of the piece, an exact attribution cannot be guaranteed, though the colour and patina are entirely consistent with period bakelite examples. The hand is beautifully detailed, complete with tiny applied gold nails, a bracelet and a charming miniature key, all in solid 18k gold, adding symbolism as well as refinement. No hallmark - acid tested as 18k gold.

The pendant measures approximately 4 cm including the bail and around 2 cm at its widest point, and weighs about 2.4 grams. 

Condition is good vintage, with visible signs of age and gentle wear that only enhance its authenticity and soulful presence. A striking and meaningful piece, perfect for collectors of talismanic jewellery, lovers of Italian folk symbols, or anyone drawn to jewellery with history and quiet power.
