Circa 1920s, the hand has primitive details.
The base is 9k gold - no hallmark - acid tested as 9 k gold.
In good antique/used condition with the usual small signs of ageing - (antique items are almost always pre-worn and will typically have some level of wear). Please refer to images for condition and further details.
The hand measures approximately 3.4 cm (including bail) by 1.1 cm and it weighs approximately 1.5 grams.
The chain on image 7 is just used as a reference.
It was acquired as part of a antique charm necklace.
“Horned Hand amulet, Corsica Mano cornuta, or ‘horned hand’ amulets are thought to be of ancient Italian origin and are worn as protection against the harmful glance of the Evil Eye. Mano cornuta is one of two hand gestures that are commonly used for this purpose, the second being the mano fica, or ‘figa hand’.”
