Vintage 9k Gold Enamel Religious Guardian Angel Medal

Presented here is an exquisite religious Portuguese medal/pendant from the 1950s featuring the Guardian Angel.

Adorned with fine enamel on both sides, the front of the medal showcases a representation of a guardian angel holding the hand of a boy against a picturesque backdrop. On the reverse side, the words "Guardian Angel" are inscribed in Portuguese (Anjo da Guarda).

The medal is securely set in a 9k gold frame, although it lacks a hallmark, it has been acid-tested and confirmed as positive for 14k gold.

In good vintage/used condition, the piece exhibits minor signs of aging, such as a small crack in the enamel on the lower part of the back, which, in my opinion, only enhances its genuine aged charm (refer to the image 5).

Measuring approximately 3 cm (including the bail) by 1.8 cm, it weighs around 2.2 grams.

It’s the second of its kind that I sell here, this one was acquired in Portugal alongside a collection of other medals, it originates from a previous private owner.
